The Artist’s Tour Vase is a collectible porcelain work by Cara Bauermeister, thoughtfully designed and hand-finished in Cape Town, South Africa. Combining fine craftsmanship with artistic storytelling, each vase is a celebration of history, travel, and cultural discovery.
Handbuilt from porcelain using meticulously carved moulds, the vase features a distinctive octagonal form that tapers elegantly towards the base. The creation of each piece is an intensive process, requiring a month or more to complete, reflecting the care and skill invested in every stage of production.
The design incorporates a series of symbols and motifs inspired by places, objects, and art historical references that have influenced the artist’s practice. These visual elements invite exploration and interpretation, drawing connections between historical artefacts, travel traditions, museum collections, and contemporary design.
Produced as a limited edition of just 30 pieces per colour, each vase is individually signed and numbered, underscoring its exclusivity and collectible nature. Colours are mixed by hand, resulting in subtle variations that make every piece unique. Sculptural, meaningful, and beautifully crafted, The Artist’s Tour Vase is both a functional vessel and a work of art designed to be treasured for years to come.

~ All pieces are handmade by Cara Bauermeister and while they are similar to the photos shown, all works are slightly different and unique- ensuring that each piece is one of a kind.
Currently shipping is to the UK, USA and SA. If your delivery address is outside of the UK, USA or SA let us know which vases you are interested in purchasing and we will be able to give you an estimate of the shipping cost, including duties, as well as the time in transit.
All products are either shipped from Cara’s Somerset West studio (Cape Town) or her United Kingdom distributor, where they are then sent out via trackable courier.
Shipping costs are at a flat rate.
Items are packed carefully and sent insured.

Available on order – unless stated otherwise ordered pieces take about 10-12 weeks to make. When the piece is ready to ship, courier tracking will be sent to the e-mail address provided on the order form.
